Montenegro Amaro Gift Pack with Glass

A gift box pairing a bottle of Montenegro with its own unique glass. Created in Bologna in 1885 by the herbalist Stanislao Cobianchi and named after Princess Elena of Montenegro, who married the future King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy, this softer, fruitier amaro is built on forty botanicals including liquorice root, nutmeg and sweet and bitter oranges. Sweeter and lighter than most amari, it shows zesty orange and cherry over coriander, vanilla and clove, with a gently bitter, citrus finish.

The glass suits it the Italian way: neat over ice after dinner with a twist of orange peel, or lengthened with soda. A good introduction for anyone new to amaro, and a welcome one for those already fond of it.
