Refund policy
We hope you'll be delighted with your purchase from Difford's Shop. However in the event that you decide to cancel or return your order you'll find the information below helpful.
If you have ordered Goods, but they have not been despatched, you may cancel your order without giving a reason, at any time within 14 days of your order. You will have no obligation and we will return your money.
If you have ordered Goods, and they have been despatched or you have received them, you may cancel your order at any time within 14 days of the date you received them. You must tell us that you wish to cancel. You must also send the Goods back to us within that same 14 day period.
To start a return, you can contact us at hello@diffords.shop Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: The Clocktower, Sherbourne Valley, Hastings Road, Rye, TN31 6HY, England. Or, you can return items to the store in person.
If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
We will return your money subject to the following conditions:
- we receive the Goods in a condition in which we can re-sell them at full price, in new condition, with labels and packaging intact.
- you comply with our procedure for returns. We cannot return your money unless we know who sent them.
The option to cancel your order is not available:
- if you purchase sealed goods which relate to health or hygiene, and they become unsealed after delivery, or cannot be re-sold for some other reason;
- if the Goods are somehow mixed with other goods so that we cannot identify or easily separate them.
You are responsible for the cost of returning the Goods. We have no obligation to refund to you, your cost of re-packing and returning the Goods.
In any of the above scenarios, we will return your money within 14 days.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food) and custom products (such as special orders or personalised items).
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
The procedure to return faulty Goods is as follows:
- the Goods must be returned to us as soon as any defect is discovered but not later than six months from receipt by you.
- before you return the Goods to us, please carefully re-read the instructions and check that you have complied with any provisions on usage and shelf-life.
- please follow the returns procedure which we will send to you as soon as you notify us that you wish to return them.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Event refund policy
Our events are small and carefully planned, so we ask that you let us know as soon as possible if your plans change.
- If you cancel 14 days or more before the event, we'll refund your ticket in full.
- If you cancel 7–13 days before the event, we can offer a 50% refund.
- Within 7 days of the event, tickets are non-refundable, as by this point we’ve confirmed numbers and prepared ingredients and supplies for the evening.
If you can’t make it, you’re very welcome to send someone in your place. Please just let us know their name beforehand.
If we have to cancel
On the rare occasion we need to cancel or significantly change an event, we’ll offer you the choice of a full refund or transferring your booking to a future event.
