Cocktail Kingdom Ice Crushing Kit (Schmallet & Lewis Bag)

Crushed ice the old-fashioned way, and still the quickest way to get there at home.

The kit pairs the Schmallet, a solid wooden mallet with angled striking faces, with a canvas Lewis bag. Ice goes in the bag, the bag takes the beating, and the canvas wicks the meltwater away as you work, so what comes out is dry, fluffy crushed ice rather than slush. Fold the bag over, a dozen good swings, and you have enough for a couple of Juleps.
