This uniquely matured Yellow Chartreuse is aged for many years in oak vats. 'V.E.P.' stands for 'Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolongé,' which translates to 'exceptionally long ageing.' Each wax-sealed, individually numbered bottle mirrors the style used since 1840. Made annually in limited volumes, Chartreuse V.E.P. follows the same traditional methods as Chartreuse Yellow. The Carthusian monks carefully select particular liqueurs destined to mature further in demi-muids.
Taste guide: earthy, slightly sweet, aniseed, peppermint, angelica, lime peel, tobacco, ginger root and turmeric.
How to serve: slow sipping as a digestif at a temperature of 13-15°C, or combined with Chartreuse V.E.P. Green for the ultimate Episcopal.
