Vintage: 2023

Julian Langworthy is one of Margaret River's most decorated winemakers, picking up the Jimmy Watson Trophy in 2014 and Halliday's Best Winemaker in 2019 before launching Nocturne as his solo venture. This Yallingup bottling sits alongside the single-vineyard Sheoak as the more approachable expression in the range - blending Cabernet Sauvignon from the Sheoak Vineyard with Merlot and Malbec from a neighbouring estate, the latter two varieties adding generosity and mid-palate weight to the blend. Like all Nocturne wines, it is made with minimal intervention using indigenous yeasts and no fining.

The 2023 vintage was low-yielding, with cool winters and a warm, dry early year delivering excellent ripening conditions across Yallingup. Deep crimson in colour, the wine opens with cassis and a hint of saline freshness on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied and elegant, with fine firm tannins, vibrant red fruit and a long, pure finish.
