An unoaked Bordeaux claret from Maison Ginestet, a blend of 35% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc. It takes its name from the 58 guineas Sir Robert Walpole reportedly paid in 1713 to smuggle twenty hogsheads of claret into Britain, where it was prized by London's fashionable elite.
Ripe and easy-going, showing the classic Bordeaux flavours of plum, black cherry and blackcurrant with a lick of graphite.
Pairs beautifully with roast beef, sausages or anything off the barbecue.
