Pelo Del Perro, which translates to "hair of the dog" in Spanish, is produced by the Cortés family at their palenque in Oaxaca, where the Madrecuishe agave used for this mezcal naturally grows wild the distillery.

As one of their initial releases, the Pelo Del Perro team sought a mezcal that truly represents the land of its origin. Madrecuishe delivers this perfectly. This A. Karwinskii variety is native to a specific region in Oaxaca where the mezcal is made, and a short drive from town reveals agave plants stretching along roadsides and filling the surrounding fields.

This Madrecuishe offers earthy and herbal flavours accented by pine notes, with an unexpectedly sweet aroma. Despite its 49.2% abv, it delivers a smooth drinking experience, reflecting the Cortés family’s expertise throughout the entire process from harvest to distillation.
