Château Lucas Saint-Emilion 2016
Hailing from one of the most prized properties in the up-and-coming Lussac appellation of Saint Emilion, this wine has an unusually high volume of Cabernet Franc in the blend, with an equal quantity of Merlot.
The Cabernet Franc gives this full-bodied, rounded wine a lift to compliment the velvety tannins in this outstanding wine. 2016 was an exceptional vintage for Bordeaux, and, while perfectly ready to drink now, this wine will keep on giving with further ageing.
Founded 1876, Chateau Lucas has been farmed by generations of the Vauthier family, with Frederic Vauthier at the helm for the past 20 years.
Taste guide: aromatic with notes of raspberry blackcurrant and plum, with a lick of spice to finish.
