Coterie by Wildeberg Grenache Syrah
A blend of 67% Grenache and 33% Syrah from Franschhoek and Paarl in South Africa’s Coastal Region. The grapes are hand-harvested in February and a daily pump over during natural fermentation is used (without crushing) to slowly and gently extract flavours. The component wines mature in French and Austrian oak casks, new and old, for 8 months before blending. The blend is then allowed to marry for 6 weeks prior to coarse filtration and bottling on the farm.
Taste: Ripe red berries and plums, pepped up with a little black pepper spice, balanced by fresh acidity and steely tannins. Delicious with grilled meats, particularly lamb and spicy meat dishes.
