The famous green liqueur made by Carthusian monks to a recipe dating from 1764, flavoured with extracts from around 130 botanicals and coloured naturally by their chlorophyll. Powerful and complex at 55%, showing herbaceous mint and aniseed over pine, lemon zest and tobacco, finishing on peppermint with a ginger and black-pepper heat. As much a base spirit as a modifier, and essential to a Last Word.
