Chartreuse Élixir Végétal

The original Chartreuse: the 1764 "elixir of life" from which the liqueurs descend, made by the Carthusian monks from around 130 plants and bottled at a fierce 71%. Intensely herbal and medicinal, it is taken in drops rather than measures. Five drops on a sugar cube, in a little sugared water, or added to a hot chocolate.
