A traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Domaine Chante Cigale, blended from 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. The hand-harvested fruit comes from sixty-year-old vines on clay, chalk and the region's classic large pebbles near the Plateau de Cabrières. A long maceration of 21 to 24 days on the skins, then 14 to 18 months in large oak foudres.
Full-bodied and concentrated, showing ripe black cherry and blackberry over liquorice, black olive and a peppery, herbal edge, with fine tannins and a long finish.
One for the table with roast or grilled meats, game or hard cheeses.
