The grand vin of Château Petit-Village, from its 10.5-hectare vineyard on the Pomerol plateau, where clay and gravel over iron-rich subsoil give both structure and finesse. A Merlot-led blend (71%) with Cabernet Franc and a little Cabernet Sauvignon.
Refined rather than powerful, showing blackcurrant, plum and sweet spice over liquorice and a floral note, medium to full-bodied with velvety tannins and bright acidity to a long, savoury finish.
One for the table with roast lamb, beef or game.
