Château Petit-Village, `Le Petit de Petit-Village` Pomerol

The second wine of Château Petit-Village in Pomerol, 100% Merlot from thirty-six-year-old vines on the deep clay-gravel of the Plateau de Catusseau. Hand-harvested and berry-sorted, given a cool pre-fermentation maceration, then aged sixteen months split between new French oak and clay amphorae.

Ripe and plush, showing plum and black cherry over a subtle spice, with soft Pomerol tannins and bright acidity to a juicy, elegant finish.
