Château Lucas Saint-Emilion

From Château Lucas in the up-and-coming Lussac Saint-Émilion, farmed by the Vauthier family since 1876, with Frédéric Vauthier at the helm for the past twenty years. Unusually it leads on Cabernet Franc, with an equal measure of Merlot, and 2016 was an exceptional Bordeaux vintage.

Full-bodied and rounded, showing raspberry, blackcurrant and plum over velvety tannins and a lick of spice to finish. Ready now, and will keep giving for years yet.

A natural partner for roast lamb, a rare steak or hard cheeses.
