A French wine-based aperitif created by Joseph Dubonnet in 1846, blending five Roussillon grape varieties with herbs, spices, bitter bark and quinine, then aged three to four years in oak. Rich and gently bitter. Serve over ice with a slice of lemon, or with gin in the well-known half-and-half.
