Domaine du Monteillet Les Grandes Chaillées, AOP Condrieu

Domaine du Monteillet Condrieu “Les Grandes Chaillées” is a classic Northern Rhône white made from 100% Viognier, grown on steep granite terraces above the Rhône in Chavanay, Saint-Michel-sur-Rhône and Vérin. The name “Chaillées” refers to the traditional dry-stone walls that support these terraced vineyards.

The grapes undergo gentle pressing after a short period of skin contact, followed by fermentation and ageing in French oak barriques and demi-muids with regular bâtonnage. This careful approach adds texture and complexity while preserving the grape’s aromatic purity.

Elegant and intensely aromatic, it shows classic Viognier notes of peach, apricot and floral perfume with a fresh mineral backbone. Rich yet balanced, the wine will develop deeper honeyed complexity with age and pairs beautifully with seafood, creamy dishes or poultry.
