De Loach, `California Collection` Zinfandel

De Loach California Collection Zinfandel 2024 is a Californian red made from 100% Zinfandel, with fruit sourced from vineyards in the Lodi region. The vineyards are farmed sustainably and planted on sandy, loamy soils that provide excellent drainage and support healthy vine growth.

In the winery, the grapes undergo a pre-fermentation cold soak to extract deep colour before fermenting in stainless steel tanks. A period of warm maceration helps build structure and integrate tannins, and the wine is aged mainly in stainless steel with a small portion matured in seasoned French oak barrels to add subtle complexity without masking the fruit.

Rich and expressive, it has aromas of ripe blackberry, black cherry and sweet spice. The palate is full-bodied with bold fruit and ripe tannins, balanced by well-integrated oak for a smooth, structured finish.
