Birdy Kwant Strainer
Erik Lorincz spent years as head bartender at the American Bar at The Savoy before opening Kwānt, his acclaimed bar in London's Mayfair. The Birdy range is his line of professional bar tools. The Kwānt Strainer is named after the bar, and it shows the same attention to detail.
Made from 18-8 stainless steel with a high-polish finish, it is designed specifically for the MT-800 mixing tin and works also with other large-format mixing tins and oversized mixing glasses. The strainer drops comfortably into the tin to hold ice in place as you strain and pour. The handle is slightly narrowed to fit small and large hands equally well, the angle is designed to work in either direction, and all edges are smoothed to eliminate any risk of cuts during fast service. It is equally well suited to throwing cocktails, sliding cleanly into the tin as you roll. At 105g and 190mm, it is strong and lightweight. A serious tool, and an elegant one.
